About "OEI"
On June 3, 2008, Scottsdale City Council adopted the 2008/2009 city budget. This approved the Planning and Development Services reallocation of current staff positions and corresponding operating funds to form the Office of Environmental Initiatives. This office assists the city organization with strategic planning for environmental sustainability, resource and energy efficiency, and continual improvement in city-wide environmental/energy management practices. In addition, the office develops initiatives and strategies that enhance the quality of life in Scottsdale and the community's leadership in environmental stewardship.
