Scottsdale defers library hours change, after-school program fee discussion
A staff recommendation to close Palomino Library on Saturdays and a proposal to add a fee for city after-school programs have been tabled until the City Council can consider these proposals within the context of the entire municipal budget.
At its Jan. 25 meeting, the Scottsdale City Council voted unanimously to halt any service reductions until they consider all possible budget reductions and money-savings strategies.
The City Manager’s proposed budget will be released on March 1, and the Budget Review Commission and City Council will discuss it in detail over a series of public meetings in March, April and May. Final adoption of the Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget is scheduled June 7.
