Learn about “green” products and services

Today’s soft economy coupled with ever-increasing energy prices make it even more important to find the right mix of new “green” products and services. Residents are invited to gain that knowledge by attending “Materials and Resources,” a free Green Building lecture from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road.

Program speaker Rick Johnson will discuss new products and application, processes and services that have grown in response to the need to save resources and energy.  Attendees will also learn about the importance of using locally available materials and recycled building products.

Here are more upcoming Green Building lectures:
• April 14 and May 5 - Interiors & Indoor Environmental Quality:  Indoor air pollutants can be six times higher than outdoor air. Learn strategies for minimizing indoor pollutants including material selection, ventilation and filtration.
• June 2 - Innovative Green Built Projects in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area:  Learn about local innovative projects that excel from the synergistic benefits of energy efficiency, renewable resources, water efficiency and appropriate climate design.

The lectures are free and open to the public.  RSVPs are not needed.  For more information, call (480) 312-3111 or visit www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/greenbuilding/lectures.
