Volunteers sought for five boards and commissions

The Scottsdale City Council invites Scottsdale residents to apply for volunteer positions on five boards and commissions which will be filled in September.

Openings are available on the Airport Advisory Commission, the Board of Adjustment, the Development Review Board, the Housing Board and the Library Board.

Information about the functions of these boards and commissions can be found on the city’s website at: www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/boards.

Applications should be submitted by Friday, Aug. 12, to give Council members adequate time for review.  The application is available on the city’s website at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov.  Follow links for “Mayor, Council and Government” and “Boards and Commissions.”

The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be emailed to interested residents who call the City Clerk’s office at (480) 312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Aug. 29.  Those nominated will be interviewed at the Sept. 13 City Council meeting.

Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.  All board and commission members must comply with the City’s Ethics Code.  An orientation covering those requirements will be provided to appointees.
