Early bird exhibitor rate available for “All Things Senior Expo”
Early bird discounts are available to exhibitors interested in participating in the city’s February 2012 “All Things Senior Expo.” A discounted rate of $300 is available through Oct. 28. Vendors will pay $350 thereafter.
The Expo provides a "one-stop-shop" for those looking to connect with valuable local resources for seniors such as learning about housing, recreation and fitness opportunities, transportation resources and health and wellness.
More than 1,500 people attended and about 80 exhibitors participated in last year’s inaugural event.
One such exhibitor was Christopher Royan with In-Home Care Alliance, LLC. He says, “My company participated in last year’s Senior Expo, and we found it to be a great success.” Besides interacting with seniors and other business merchants dedicated to serving seniors, Royan also was able market his services to a large number of people for little cost.
The Expo will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second St. Admission is free.
The event also features live entertainment and health screenings. The Scottsdale Police Department will be on hand to accept and properly dispose of expired and/or unwanted over-the-counter and prescription drugs.
Nick Molinari, human services coordinator at the Granite Reef Senior Center, says this type of program is a necessary service for our aging population. The oldest baby boomers became senior citizens last year. According to the U. S. Census Bureau, this means the 65 and older population is projected to grow faster than the total population in every state. In Arizona, one in four residents will be older than 60 by 2020.
Those interested in exhibiting can get details at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/Seniors/SeniorExpo or call Human Services Coordinator Kira Peters at (480) 312-5811.
