Registration is open for Fall landscape workshops
Keep your home beautiful and water thrifty this winter by attending one or more of Scottsdale’s Water Conservation Fall 2011 Landscape Workshops. Classes are free and open to all Scottsdale residents.
From plant care and selection to efficient watering, there is a workshop just right for you. Workshops will be held Thursday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Via Linda Senior Center, 10440 E. Via Linda or Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mustang Library, 10101 N. 90th Street.
Advanced registration is required for all workshops and can be made on-line at http://scottsdaleaz.gov/Water/Conservation/workshops or by calling (480) 312-5690. Confirmations will be provided.
Here is the workshop schedule:
October 6 - Program Your Irrigation Controller – Get step-by-step instructions for setting and adjusting your irrigation timer.
October 8 – Drip Irrigation Design & Installation – Learn from experts how to plan and install a drip system plus tip to make it efficient and easy to maintain.
October 13 - Plant Care in the Desert – Learn how to work with nature to promote healthy plants and reduce landscape maintenance.
October 20 – Permaculture: The Nature of Landscape Design – Discover landscape design techniques for your yard that integrates nature to save you money, time and resources for a sustainable landscape.
October 22 – Irrigation Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Repair – Get the basics on good maintenance practices, problem solving tips and techniques to keep your irrigation system running smoothly.
October 27 – Plant Selection – Match hard-working desert plants to specific areas of your yard and discover an array of beautiful, water-thrifty plants.
