Event summary
The Scottsdale Air Fair will feature a variety of displays and activities on the ground giving event goers a hands-on, interactive experience. Guests will get to look inside planes, talk to pilots and learn about aviation in all of its forms. The two-day event is expected to draw more than 20,000 people.

“The city of Scottsdale is known for events that families can enjoy,” said Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane. “With the return of the Scottsdale Air Fair, we will add another – a world-class aviation event for kids and grown-ups, aviation enthusiasts and casual fans to look forward to all year long.”

Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for ages 16 and up and $7 for ages 11-15 (kids under 11 are free). Advance tickets and a variety of weekend, group and VIP packages are available at www.ScottsdaleAirFair.com or by calling 480-980-2174.

Supporting local charities
Event-goers who bring new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots will receive discounts on general admission tickets. Local businesses are invited to take the Air Fair challenge by conducting their own toy drives in October, and delivering the toys to the Scottsdale Air Fair. Hacienda Harley is also organizing a Toys for Tots ride from Hacienda Harley to the event to deliver toys for the Toys for Tots program.

Scouts can earn merit badges
Eligible Boy Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts will have an opportunity to earn their aviation/aerospace badges during the fair. Troops must register for the badge program by calling 480-980-2174. Participating Scouts in uniform will gain free admittance.

Story time with Santa
From 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Sunday Nov. 6, Santa Claus will make a special guest appearance to promote literacy amongst Valley children. Santa will read a story to the kids while the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve hands out free books to children.

Family friendly activities
Other family friendly activities include: a free pancake breakfast on Saturday morning sponsored by McDonald’s; drawings for free helicopter rides; a children’s FunZone; small rocket launch demonstrations; a balloon glow on Saturday evening; and live entertainment all weekend long. For a full schedule of events, and to purchase tickets visit www.ScottsdaleAirFair.com.
