Help your Neighbors Beat the Heat

Help your neighbors in Scottsdale this summer by donating water and other heat relief items.

With temperatures on the rise, Scottsdale is providing heat relief to those in need this summer. The city’s hydration stations and Beat the Heat Program rely on donations from the public to meet the high demand in Scottsdale.

Hydration stations offer free bottled water and a place where people can cool off from the summer heat through Sept. 30. All eight locations are in desperate need of water bottle donations. Here are the hydration station locations where you can donate water:

Scottsdale Senior Services is seeking donations for their annual Beat the Heat Program, which provides homebound, in-need seniors with necessary items for summer relief. Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday - Friday at Via Linda Senior Center (10440 E. Via Linda) from now through May 26.

The Senior Services team has collaborated with Scottsdale Police and Scottsdale Fire to host a “Fill-a-Cruiser” event from 2 – 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at Granite Reef Senior Center. The goal is to fill a police cruiser with essential items needed for the Beat the Heat Program.

Critical items needed are:

  • Water bottles
  • Electrolyte/nutritional drinks
  • Hygiene items (16oz. or larger shampoo & conditioner)

Find a full list of items needed here.
