Regional Transportation Plan - Proposition 400 Projects within Scottsdale
WHAT IS PROPOSITION 400?
Proposition 400 was approved by voters county-wide in November of 2004 to extend a half-cent sales tax to fund major transportation projects throughout Maricopa County. These projects include improvements to freeways and other highways in the state highway system, as well as major arterial streets and intersection improvements. Proposition 400 also funds construction, maintenance and operation of public transit facilities and services.
The City of Scottsdale benefits from Proposition 400 funds that are used to improve Loop 101 (Pima Freeway), and also receives funding for the improvement of several arterial roads and intersections throughout the City.
In addition, Proposition 400 funds are used to fund transit projects such as the construction of a park-and-ride facility and the operation of bus routes and other transit services.
