On 02/18/12 a neighbor found an unauthorized hose leading from his home’s gas utility pipe to the inside of the suspect’s closed garage. Southwest Gas was called and found evidence of a gas leak and the potential for an explosion. Scottsdale Fire and Police began evacuating the suspect’s home along with six additional nearby residences.
Once the situation was made safe all residents were allowed to return.
The suspect’s gas had been shut off for failure to pay, he then took parts of a gas meter from a vacant home nearby to splice into the neighbor’s gas meter.
The suspect was arrested and booked on multiple counts of Endangerment and Theft, along with charges associated with Utility Services. |
