What's Going on in Your neighborhood?

Scottsdale Police Department launches free interactive crime mapping tool.

Scottsdale residents have a new, free tool to map and analyze crime activity in their community.

Beginning Friday, June 25, 2010, crime data in Scottsdale will be displayed through the Web site RAIDS Online: http://www.raidsonline.com

RAIDS stands for Regional Analysis and Information Data Sharing. The free Web site provides crime data which users can search, filter and analyze via an interactive dashboard. Residents also can sign up for alerts about criminal activity occurring in their neighborhood.

Crimes listed on the site include both persons and property. The locations are rounded to the hundred block address level to protect victim confidentiality.

The RAIDS Web site is maintained by Bair Software, which specializes in providing public safety and defense related agencies with quality research, consulting and software development solutions

Currently, the community can access Scottsdale crime data via the city’s Crime Analysis Web site: http://scottsdaleaz.gov/Police/events/crimeanalysis

RAIDS Online is the latest example of the Scottsdale Police Department’s effort to use technology to improve services and the information available to the public.
