Single-Family Residential Turf Removal Rebate
| Purpose of the Turf Removal Rebate Program Scottsdale landscapes are thirsty, consuming 50% to 70% of our residential water - water that has been gathered, moved, pumped, treated to drinking standards, and delivered to your home to water your landscape. The purpose of the Single-Family Turf Removal Rebate Program is to reduce the use of water in the landscape. |
Who is Eligible
The turf removal rebate is available to single-family residential properties that receive water from the Scottsdale water system and meet the program qualifications and requirements stated in the application (pdf/214kb/2pp).
About the Program
A minimum of 500 sq. ft. of grass is required to participate in the program. Grass in the conversion area must also be growing at a minimum density of 50%. A preliminary inspection performed by a water conservation specialist is required before the grass is removed to determine eligibility. There are no exceptions to this.
The rebate amount is calculated based upon the amount of turf removed and low-water-use landscape installed, and is limited to a one-time credit of up to $1,500 per property. The Turf Removal Rebate Program offers two landscaping options for the turf conversion area.
