Volunteer Opportunities
Home Safe Home
Home Safe Home volunteers visit seniors in their homes, point out home tripping/falling hazards and, when appropriate, refer residents to our partners: Scottsdale Healthcare
, City of Scottsdale Senior Centers, Rebuilding Together, and ViCAP. Rebuilding Together and ViCAP are non-profit organizations that do home modifications for seniors. Home Safe Home volunteers complete a three-hour training and commit at least 4 hours a month to this program.
Headquarters Volunteers
HQ volunteers help coordinate volunteer programs, schedule appointments with residents and assist with other administrative duties.
Delivery Volunteers
Volunteers make deliveries to fire stations, city buildings and other locations. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when making deliveries.
Community Event Volunteers
Volunteers staff a booth at community events, distribute Fire Department materials and answer community questions about the Scottsdale Fire Department and fire safety. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when setting up and tearing down booths.
Teacher/Trainer Volunteers
If you love public speaking and teaching, this may be just what you have been looking for. Volunteers are trained to:
- Teach CPR classes to the community.
-
Lead lessons in fire, transportation and water safety to preschoolers through 3rd grade.
-
Assist with Mini-Muster field days that teach children fire safety with hands-on activities.
-
Work with teens to address safe driving practices, emergency response and public safety.
