“Wear Western Wednesdays” rides again in Scottsdale

Dust off that Stetson and wrangle up some blue jeans – The Parada del Sol is coming to Scottsdale and so are “Wear Western Wednesdays.”

Scottsdale Mayor W. J. “Jim” Lane is again asking Scottsdale citizens to dress Western on Wednesdays through February in observance of the annual Parada del Sol celebration.

Lane is proclaiming February as “Parada del Sol Month,” urging everyone to don boots, jeans and other Western attire on Wednesdays.

Of course, there’s no better time to showcase your Western duds than during Parada del Sol festivities.

The Parada Parade and Trail’s End celebration takes place along Scottsdale Road in the Downtown beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11.

Other Parada celebrations include the arrival of the Hashknife Pony Express on Friday, Feb. 10, and the Parada del Sol Rodeo March 2 - 4, at WestWorld, 16601 N. Pima Road.
