Residents invited to apply for openings
  on Scottsdale board and commissions

Scottsdale residents are invited to apply for volunteer positions on nine boards and commissions scheduled to be filled in September.

Openings are available on the Board of Adjustment, Building Advisory Board of Appeals, Environmental Quality Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Human Relations Commission, Human Services Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, Neighborhood Advisory Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Information about the functions of these boards and commissions as well as the application can be found on the city’s web site at the Boards and Commissions page, www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/boards.

Applications should be submitted by Friday, Aug. 17 to give City Council members adequate time for review.

The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be emailed to interested residents who call 480-312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Aug. 27.  Those nominated will be interviewed on Sept. 4 at a City Council meeting.

Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.  All board and commission members must comply with the City’s Ethics Code.
