Help Shape the Future of the City’s Bond Election
The 2013 Bond Task Force is seeking public input as it considers projects for a potential bond election in Fall 2013. Citizens can be part of the process by submitting ideas via the city’s online engagement tool Speak Up Scottsdale or by attending an upcoming meeting.
Speak Up Scottsdale
The Bond Task Force is seeking input on a number of topics:
• Submit a new project idea through Oct. 15. We maintain an ongoing database of future bond projects and project ideas. A bond project must result in the creation or revitalization of a fixed asset. Examples include construction of a new facility, remodeling or expansion of existing facilities, and the purchase or development of land or street construction or renovation.
• Review the current list of future bond and capital improvement projects and let us know if you believe any of them should be included in the proposed 2013 Bond Package.
• Let us know what you think about the proposed 2012 program and find links to proposed bond questions, projects and dollar figures.
All bond-related topics can be found here.
All comments made at Speak Up Scottsdale regarding a potential future bond election will be presented to the 2013 Bond Task Force.
Upcoming Meeting
The next meeting of the 2013 Bond Task Force will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road. Topics for this meeting include:
• Consider changes to the proposed 2012 Bond Program and inclusion of those projects in the 2013 Bond Program.
• Over view of the city’s finances; take possible action on bond program scope based on this information.
• Establish project evaluation criteria which will be used to help determine what projects should be included in the bond program.

On May 1, 2012, the Scottsdale City Council accepted the final recommendations from the Scottsdale 2012 Bond Task Force. It voted to postpone a bond election until Fall 2013. A new 2013 Bond Task Force was formed to examine the city's priorities and help determine the size and content of a 2013 Bond Package. The 2013 Task Force will use the proposed 2012 Bond Program as a starting point in its deliberations.
