Residents can help shape two new public art projects
by providing comment online by Nov. 9
Help shape two new public art installations by providing comments via Speak Up Scottsdale, the city’s online engagement tool.
Artworks are currently in the conceptual stages for the Scottsdale Road Streetscape Project between Roosevelt Street and Earll Drive and for the Northsight Boulevard Extension Project in the Scottsdale Airpark. Public comment on both projects will be taken online now through Nov. 9.
Scottsdale Road historical happenstance artworks
Six historical happenstance artworks will be installed along Scottsdale Road between Roosevelt Street and Earll Drive as part of the Scottsdale Road Streetscape project. The goal of the project is to commemorate aspects of the area’s history.
Artist Tad Savinar is doing initial research and would like to hear about what the area means to residents from both a historical and current perspective. Visit Happenstance project to answer a series of questions designed to inspire the artworks.
Northsight Boulevard extension public art
The city’s Northsight Boulevard Extension Project will extend Northsight Boulevard as a public street from Hayden Road to Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Public Art will be a component of this project and the artist team is seeking feedback on three preliminary concepts.
Residents can view renderings of the concepts and provide comments to help decide which concept is developed into an artwork by providing feedback at Northsight project. All comments will be provided directly to the artist team of Simon Donovan and Ben Olmstead.
