Residents invited to get behind-the-scenes look at the science and technology that drive city services

Residents can get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the science and technology that drive some of the city’s most important public services. The city is hosting the “Science of the City of Scottsdale” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at various locations throughout the city.

Participants will get a rare chance to tour the highly-secured Advanced Water Treatment Facility, see how Traffic Management Center employees move traffic citywide from the push of some buttons and learn how the city is going green to help our environment.

The program is being held in conjunction with the statewide Arizona SciTech Festival, a state-wide celebration of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) held annually in February and March.  The Science of the City of Scottsdale will reveal how STEM is at work every day to keep the city running safely and smoothly.
