SCOTTSDALE CONFERENCE HOST AGENCY NIGHT

Thursday, July 19

The Scottsdale Police Department, Arizona Police Accreditation Coalition (AZPAC), and Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni of Scottsdale (CiPAAS) will be co-hosting the Thursday night event at Rawhide, an 1880’s western town full of fun, good eatin’, great shopping and true taste of the old west you won’t find anywhere else in Arizona!  Enjoy an authentic western dinner at the Rawhide Steakhouse & Saloon, Arizona’s original family steakhouse.  The menu celebrates the spirit and hospitality of its Western roots through traditional cooking and true hungry-cowboy portions.

Rawhide has been supplying Arizonans with the tradition, scenery and drama of a typical late 19th century Southwestern cowboy town since 1971.  But rest assured, the place is full of characters. Your expectations will be blown away with the shows put on by the Arizona Roughriders in the Six Gun Theater.  You will witness gunfights, explosions, daring falls and all the antics of the cowboy characters.  Take a ride back in time on the Butterfield Stagecoach or the Huntington Express Train to get a real feel of good ol’ western transportation.  Feeling brave?  Try a ride on the Widow Maker, the mechanical bull, a white-knuckle frenzy that will give you the thrill of your life!  For something a little tamer, visit the Petting Zoo, featuring many sociable critters just waiting to make new friends.  See Texas Kate in the Spirit of the West Theater, where she displays the skills of an American Cowgirl with trick roping, whip cracking, bull fighting and trick riding!  For the shopaholic, the General Store offers the perfect western souvenirs, Sweet Sally’s Candy Store features 20+ flavors of homemade fudge and other goodies, the Toy Store with western-related kids’ items and the Photo Emporium, where you can have an old time photo taken in 1880’s costumes.  With all these options to choose from, you can’t go wrong!

We will be leaving the Talking Stick Resort at 5:00 P.M. and returning at 10:00 P.M., providing plenty of time to enjoy a true western experience.  So dress casual, saddle up and let the fun begin!

Enjoy the conference, and we look forward to seeing everyone Thursday night!
