Nondiscrimination Notice to the Public

The City of Scottsdale hereby gives public notice that it is the Agency’s policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and other related authorities in all of its programs and activities.

The City’s Title VI and ADA Programs require that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin and disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity.

Any person, who believes that their Title VI or ADA rights have been violated, may file a complaint. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the City of Scottsdale within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.

Filing a Discrimination Complaint (Public)

Any person who believes they, or any specific class of persons, to be subjected to prohibited discrimination based on race, color or national origin may file a written complaint individually or through a representative.

Title VI Complaints related to the Federal-aid highway program may be filed with the City of Scottsdale or the agencies below. A complaint must be filed within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discrimination, unless the discrimination is ongoing, or the time for filing is extended by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Complaints should be in writing and signed. They may be filed by mail, in person, or e-mail. The ADA/Title VI Compliance Coordinator will ensure that all complaints received by the city are forwarded to ADOT Civil Rights within 72 hours for processing.
