SAFMR (Small Area Fair Market Rent) allows families and individuals on our programs to decrease the rent burden and make access to all neighborhoods more attainable. It will also allow our landlord partners to receive rent more in line with the market trends.

What is Fair Market Rent?

Fair Market Rent is established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is used to determine payment standards for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) programs. Scottsdale uses Small Area Market Rent which establishes the fair market rent by zip code. These payment standards are updated every calendar year to reflect market trends.

Payment Standards

Small Area Fair Market Rent is establishing the fair market rent by zip code rather than by municipality or metro area. This more accurately represents the market rents of communities that we serve.

Scottsdale By Zip Code

This map shows Scottsdale broken out by zip codes. Enter an address above the map and it will show you what zip code it is in and provide a link to view payment standards. Or use the + on the right side of the map to zoom in and see what zip codes fall within Scottsdale and look specifically at that zip code.
