Bike Month | April 2025
Born to Ride is the theme for Bike Month 2025. Visit Valley Metro’s website to register for the Bike Month Challenge (available through March 31) and take the Bike Month Pledge. Cities throughout the Valley are sponsoring events geared to match every cyclist’s experience level; see the complete calendar of events on the Valley Metro website. Closer to home, Scottsdale will host two bike events and the annual Tour de Scottsdale ride at WestWorld.

Cycle the Arts | Sunday, April 6, 6:30 a.m.
The group bike ride and docent tour of Scottsdale’s public art collection includes stops at 10 public art pieces. Participants will enjoy presentations by artists, Scottsdale Arts staff, and community volunteers at each art installation. This year’s 11-mile ride will begin at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts at 7 a.m. Participants will receive a commemorative Cycle the Arts t-shirt and sticker featuring original artwork by Shela Yu (Shellshaker), a Chinese American multi-disciplinary artist from Mesa, AZ. Shela Yu’s temporary public art installation, A Gathering Place, will be featured at one of the event art stops. The event is free; however, registration is required, and capacity is limited.

Tour de Scottsdale 2025 | Saturday, April 12, WestWorld of Scottsdale
This event offers challenging and scenic 32 and 62-mile courses through north Scottsdale. More than 3,000 riders are expected to attend the event and rider expo. Rides begin and end at WestWorld. This event is sponsored by the McDowell Sonoran Conversancy and Perimeter Bicycling Association / El Tour de Tucson; visit the event website for complete information.
Bike to Work Day 2025 | Wednesday, April 16, 7 – 8:30 a.m.
Bike commuters are invited to stop on their way to work at a designated pit stops to celebrate Bike to Work Day. Participants will receive commemorative Bike Month t-shirts, stickers, door prizes and breakfast snacks. An event map will be posted in early April.

Bicycle Friendly Community
Scottsdale is a gold-level Bicycle Friendly Community. The city received this prestigious designation in 2019 from the League of American Bicyclists and is one of only 35 gold-level cities in the U.S. Bicycle friendly communities are recognized for providing safe accommodations for cycling and encouraging residents to bike for transportation and recreation
Mountain Vista Self-Guided Bike Tour
The City of Scottsdale's Mountain Vista bike route is a 2.3-mile loop tour that begins and ends at Main St. and Brown Avenue in Old Town. The route includes two stops where mountain views are framed with interpretive panels that tell stories of the mountains on display. The McDowell Mountains are framed alongside the south bank of the Arizona Canal; the Camelback Mountain frame is at 68th St. and the Arizona Canal. Look for green-colored bike route signs along the route. The project was a collaboration between the city's Transportation & Streets, Tourism & Events, and Economic Development departments, and the Scottsdale Police Bicycle Unit.
