Celebrate National Library Week April 6–12

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

National Library Week is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination and support lifelong learning.

“Scottsdale Public Library is more than just a place to borrow books – it’s a hub for learning, connection and community,” said Mike Beck, library director. “National Library Week is a time to celebrate the essential role libraries play in fostering knowledge, supporting literacy and providing free access to resources that empower individuals of all ages. We invite everyone to visit, explore and take advantage of the many services we offer.”

Mark your calendars for free events happening at Civic Center Library:

  • Let’s Read! Scottsdale’s Literary History – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Civic Center Library – Join Scottsdale community historian and author, Joan Fudala, for a photo-rich browse through Scottsdale’s literary history.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
