HEADLINE NEWS

Scottsdale City Council has selected Greg Caton to serve as the city’s next city manager, following his interim appointment to the role earlier this year. Caton, a seasoned and credentialed local government leader, joined Scottsdale in May 2024 as an assistant city manager. He was appointed interim city manager after the departure of longtime City Manager Jim Thompson and has since earned the confidence of the City Council to lead the organization permanently.

As city manager, Caton will oversee the day-to-day operations of Scottsdale’s municipal government, which includes more than 2,600 employees and a $2.3 billion budget. He will work closely with the City Council, city departments and the community to implement strategic priorities and deliver key services that enhance the quality of life in Scottsdale.
