New pedestrian underpass increases safety at Hayden and Chaparral intersection. The $5 million project along the Indian Bend Multiuse Path reduces conflicts between pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. By diverting foot and bike traffic below Chaparral Road, it allows for longer green-light times for motorists.

Funded by federal grants and Scottsdale’s Transportation Sales Tax, the project also included sidewalk and path modifications near the intersection.

Scottsdale’s biennial community survey will reach selected households soon. Randomly selected Scottsdale households are being asked to participate in a survey to measure their views on the community, city programs and services.

The city will use the feedback to prioritize initiatives, services and programs in the future. Once the feedback period for the 5,500 randomly selected households concludes, an online version of the survey will open for all city residents to provide their feedback.

The city asks residents who receive the postcard to take about 15 minutes time to complete the survey online. Survey results will be available in spring 2025.
