Notice of Availability for Public Comment On Aircraft and Vehicle Gate Improvements within a 500-Year Floodplain at Scottsdale Airport
Published:
Oct 18, 2024Description:
The city of Scottsdale, as sponsor of Scottsdale Airport, intends to replace outdated gate operators and electrical equipment on three vehicle gates and six aircraft gates. Aircraft Access Gate 2 and Aircraft Access Gate 3 would also each require the replacement of two gate panels. Additionally, a full gate replacement would occur at Aircraft Access Gate 5. The Scottsdale Airport is located within a 500-year floodplain. The affected floodplain’s beneficial values include flood water storage and conveyance.
Since the city is seeking Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding and approval of federal actions occurring in a 500-year floodplain, a public notice and opportunity for comment is being provided. The public may submit comments on the proposed project and their potential effects on the 500-year floodplain for a period of 30 days following the publication of this notice. You may obtain more information or send comments to Kelli Kuester, Aviation Planning & Outreach Coordinator at 480-312-8482 or email. FAA will consider all comments received during the 30-day comment period before making an environmental determination.
Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, be advised that your entire comment-including your personal identifying information-may be made publicly available.
