Scottsdazzle, the city’s monthlong winter celebration ends soon - here are the remaining events and activities happening this week:

Peppermint Plaza. Enjoy a night of peppermint-themed cocktails, promotions and more! The bars and clubs in the Entertainment District will be creating some tasty concoctions to add a dash of spice to your night. Solve one of Old Town Scottsdale’s holiday-themed riddles for a chance to win one of four gift cards.

  • 9-11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 and Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Entertainment District, 7340 E. Indian Plaza

Hanukkah Candle Lighting. Come celebrate Hanukkah at the Scottsdale Canal Walk! Enjoy donuts, crafts, Hanukkah songs and of course – a candle lighting. The Valley of the Sun J, PJ Library, Temple Chai and Pardes Jewish Day School will be in attendance to create a wonderful celebratory evening together!

Recycle your Christmas tree at these drop off locations through Jan. 10. Yellow collection bins will be available at the following city parks:

  • Cactus Park, 7202 E. Cactus Road 
  • Chaparral Park, 5401 N. Hayden Road 
  • Eldorado Park, 2301 N. Miller Road 
  • Horizon Park, 15444 N. 100th St. 
  • Scottsdale Ranch Park, 10400 E. Via Linda 
  • Scottsdale Sports Complex, 8081 E. Princess Drive 
  • Thompson Peak Park, 20199 N. 78th Place

Only natural, untreated Christmas trees and wreaths without wires can be composted. Artificial trees, stands and ornaments aren’t accepted. Single-family home residents can place Christmas trees in their green waste pile, separate from bulk trash, during their brush/bulk service week. “Spirit of Scottsdale” award nominations close Dec. 31. Scottsdale’s Neighborhood Advisory Commission wants to showcase those who embody the “Spirit of Scottsdale.” This yearly award program recognizes residents and organizations/businesses that help to strengthen and build Scottsdale’s community through their commitment to and involvement in neighborhoods.
