Vote early for Scottsdale’s General Election. Skip the lines on Election Day and cast your ballot early! Remember, the last day to request an early ballot by mail is Friday, Oct. 25.

Nominations are still open for the 2025 Sustainable Scottsdale Awards. The awards recognize innovative individuals, businesses, associations, educational institutions and organizations that demonstrate exceptional sustainability efforts directly enhancing the quality of life in Scottsdale and contributing to an eco-friendly city.

Nominations will be accepted through 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Applicants will complete a brief application form and submit a 500-1,000-word summary telling their innovative program’s story. Award winners will be announced during Earth Week in April 2025. Learn more.

Get ready for a frightfully fun evening at Scottsdale’s annual Fall Festival! Enjoy trick-or-treating, game booths, a costume contest, haunted house, food vendors, live entertainment and more!

This year’s event will feature the Wonderful World of Scottsdale – a showcase of city departments and their vehicles.

WestWorld to host thrilling weekend. Whether you're a fan of courageous K9s or luxurious polo, WestWorld promises a weekend packed with excitement for all ages Oct. 26 - 27.

The Desert Dog Police K9 Trials, hosted by the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (ALECA), will take over WestWorld’s Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center. This is the largest police K9 competition in the country, featuring 70 teams of highly trained dogs and their handlers from across the U.S.

The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships will also return to WestWorld, offering an unforgettable experience with live performances, luxury fashion, and a showcase of unique cars. Whether you're a seasoned polo fan or looking for a fun day out, there's something for everyone.

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Take part in a time-honored tradition during Scottsdale Dia de los Muertos. This year’s celebration has expanded to include even more activities and events throughout Old Town Scottsdale.

Most of the events are free. Tickets to the Danza de Muertos can be purchased through Scottsdale Arts.

Take a ride during Halloween Spook-Track-Ula. Stop in for a spell as the Paradise & Pacific Railroad is transformed into a haunted park of fun for Halloween Spook-Track-ula. This family-friendly event is perfect for kids of all ages.

The event will feature limited capacity one and a half hour time blocks at 6 and 8 p.m. nightly. The park will only be accessible to those who have purchased tickets during a specific time block.

The event takes place every day from 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 11-Oct. 31. Learn more and purchase tickets here.

Programs and Services

Take pride in our community – Adopt-a-Road cleanup takes place Oct. 26. Let’s all do our share to ensure a clean and safe community. Registered groups receive trash bags, cotton gloves and safety vests.

Drop off unwanted prescription drugs at the Drug Take-Back event. From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, you can stop by two Scottsdale locations to dispose of unwanted, unneeded or expired prescription drugs – no questions asked. Bring your pills for disposal to either of the following locations:

  • Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road
  • Foothills District Police Station in the Market Street Plaza at DC Ranch, 20363 N. Pima Road.

Please do not bring liquids of any kind.

The collections are part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 22nd Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back. Scottsdale is one of more than 40 state, local and tribal police departments participating in this national effort.

Improvements to Pima Road from Via Linda Road to McKellips Road are underway. The project is being built by the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community in partnership with Scottsdale and includes roadway widening from McDowell Road to just south of Indian Bend Road, improvements to all major intersections, landscaping improvements between Via de Ventura and the Loop 101 freeway and drainage improvements south of Thomas Road.

Initial work will take place on northbound Pima Road between McDowell and Indian School roads through mid-2025. For additional information or to sign up for the project update newsletter visit, pimaroadimprovements.com.
