HEADLINE NEWS

Scottsdazzle, the city’s monthlong winter celebration, is underway - here are just a few events happening this weekend:

Pancakes and pajamas with Santa. Kids of all ages are encouraged to wear holiday-themed pajamas for a festive breakfast that features a meet and greet with Santa Claus, dance performances by Greasepaint Theatre and arts and crafts.

  • 9 a.m.- noon, Saturday, Dec. 14 at Marshall Way Bridge, 7124 E. Stetson Drive
  • Cost is $30 per person

Pre-registration is required.

Holly Jolly DIY Décor. Join the Scottsdale Artists’ School for a hands-on, 3D ornament-making session. Professional artists will lead attendees in decorating and creating their very own unique holiday decoration.

Scottsdazzle Stroll. Wander through Old Town Scottsdale’s own winter wonderland and stroll to the beat of local musicians! Get enveloped in the spirit of the season while meandering along the canal banks of the Scottsdale Waterfront, which is illuminated with holiday lights and decor. Stop by the stunning 36-foot Scottsdazzle tree for a selfie or a family photo, enjoy live entertainment and warm up with hot cocoa, coffee and sweet seasonal treats.

  • 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7135 E. Camelback Road

Scottsdale ranked No. 1 digital city for the second year in a row. Scottsdale took the top spot in the Center for Digital Government’s annual Digital Cities Survey, ranking No. 1 among cities with populations between 125,000 and 249,999.

This national review recognizes cities that excel at leveraging technology to enhance citizen services, privacy rights, transparency, cybersecurity and more.

Scottsdale is the only Arizona municipality to rank No. 1 in any category.

The Center for Digital Government said Scottsdale retained the top spot because of its digital transformation leadership and several recent achievements.

THINGS TO DO

Join Scottsdale Parks and Recreation for an unforgettable Playground Holiday JamFest! Bring the whole family to Horizon Park for a night of holiday fun, live music by the talented JForte, and plenty of festive cheer! Take photos with Santa, groove to the tunes and enjoy a magical night together. This is a free event and all ages are welcome!
