This project will make several needed improvements to Thomas Road between 56th Street and 73rd Street. The project will address the maintenance needs of the roadway and replace and/or upgrade water and sewer infrastructure under the road.

Improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of the pavement of the roadway
  • A new right turn bay at 68th and Thomas
  • Replacement of outdated traffic signals
  • Enhanced grading and drainage improvements
  • Installation of ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps
  • Restoration of lane striping to current configuration

A geotechnical evaluation was conducted and determined that this segment of the roadway needs to be rebuilt.

Project History

The pavement condition on Thomas Road from 56th Street to 73rd Street is in a state that requires significant repair. The project is coordinating with utility companies for relocation in advance of the project.
